Annual Carleton Tavern Christmas Meal

For the last 15 years Craig and I have been supporting the Carleton Tavern Christmas Meal, an annual event that takes place at the Carleton Tavern where anyone who is alone at Christmas can enjoy a hot meal with live entertainment and friendly faces.  For the last few years we have served over 1,000 people through the sit down meal and deliveries, including gifts for everyone, thanks to the amazing generosity of donors.  Craig is in charge of deliveries and I am in charge of gifts, with almost 100 volunteers helping out.  This year with COVID restrictions, a sit-down meal or even take-out and delivery at the Carlton Tavern was not possible so we partnered with the Parkdale United Church to make it happen.  We did 331 take out and delivery meals with gifts on Christmas Day and musicians donated their time by doing live performances and posting them on the Facebook site.  Definitely a different day but so glad we could be part of something that helped so many.  Hope we can be back at the Carleton Tavern next year!  For more information about the Carleton Tavern Christmas Meal check out their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Carleton-Tavern-Christmas-Day-Meal-at-the-Parkdale-United-Church-447257055333745
